INSPIRE Scholarship (SHE)

INSPIRE Scholarship 2024 for Higher Education (SHE) is a scholarship programme implemented by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. It is a scholarship scheme that comes under Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE), a flagship programme of DST. Meant for meritorious students undertaking bachelor’s and master’s courses in Natural and Basic Sciences, the INSPIRE Scholarship offers 10,000 scholarships every year. Under SHE, each selected candidate receives INR 80,000 annually for pursuing any subject in the Natural or Basic Sciences.

Eligibility Criteria for INSPIRE Scholarship 2024

In order to be considered eligible, prospective applicants must meet the following set of criteria:

1. Age Range: Applicants should fall within the age bracket of 17 to 22 years.
2. Academic Pursuit: Eligible candidates must currently be enrolled in an academic program working towards a degree in one of the following fields within the Natural and Basic Sciences at the B.Sc., B.S., and Int. M.Sc./M.S. levels:

1. Academic Performance: To meet this criterion, applicants must fulfill one of the following conditions: a. Attained a top 1% ranking in their Class 12 examination.
   b. Secured a rank within the top 10,000 in competitive exams such as JEE of IIT, AIPMT, or NEET.
2. Recognized Achievements: Alternatively, eligibility can be achieved if the applicant falls into one of these categories:

• A National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) scholar.
• A Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS) scholar.
• A medalist in an International Olympiad.

Please take note of the following:

• Applicants studying subjects outside of those specified in the list are not eligible.
• Individuals pursuing education through open universities or distance education programs do not meet the eligibility criteria.
• Candidates who completed their Class 12 examination in the previous academic year are not considered eligible.

Advantages of INSPIRE Scholarship 2024

Chosen scholars will be granted a monthly stipend of INR 5,000 for up to five years, or until they finish their course, depending on which comes first. Additionally, scholars have the opportunity to receive an annual mentorship grant of INR 20,000.

2. Your Class 12 marksheet.
3. An Endorsement Form that is properly signed by the College Principal, Institute Director, or University Registrar.
4. An Eligibility Note or Advisory Note, if it has been issued by the State or Central Board.
5. A recent passport-sized photograph.

6. A certificate that demonstrates your ranking or any accolades obtained in examinations such as IIT-JEE, AIPMT, NEET, JBNSTS, NTSE, or International Olympic competitions.
7. Your community or caste certificate.
8. Any additional supplementary documents that may be deemed necessary.

Selection Criteria of INSPIRE Scholarship 2024

The INSPIRE Scholarship selection process consists of two stages. During the initial stage, applications are carefully reviewed, taking into account the applicant’s academic achievements and other pertinent criteria. In the subsequent stage, those who make it through this screening process are extended invitations for interviews.

Terms and Conditions of INSPIRE Scholarship 2024

Incomplete applications will be swiftly rejected, and any appeals or statements related to such applications will not be entertained.

Scholarship Duration: The scholarship’s validity extends up to a maximum of five years, starting from your first year in the B.Sc., B.S., Int.M.Sc., or Int.M.S. program, or until the completion of your course, whichever occurs first.

Scholarship Continuation: The continuation of the scholarship is subject to the scholar’s strong academic performance in the examinations conducted by the University and the approval of the Head of the Institution.
