LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship

The LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship, launched by the LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation, supports meritorious students from economically weaker families pursuing higher education. It offers two streams: a General Scholarship for Class XII graduates and above, and a Special Girl Child Scholarship for girls after Class X. For the General category: ₹40,000/year for medical students, ₹30,000 for engineering, and ₹20,000 for other undergraduate, diploma, or vocational courses. The Special Girl Child scholars receive ₹15,000 per year for two years toward intermediate or diploma education.

Eligibility Criteria for LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship

To be eligible for LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship the applicant must meet the following requirements:

General Scholarship:-

  • The Applicant must have passed the Class 10 or 12 examination or its equivalent regular/vocational/diploma courses with 60% marks (or equivalent grade)
  • The applicant must be pursuing higher education in the field of vocational/diploma courses in a government-recognised college/institution or course in Industrial Training Institutes (ITI)
  • The applicant must have an annual parent(s)/guardian(s) income of not more than ₹2,50,000 from all sources

Special Scholarship for Girl Child:- 

  • The Applicant must have passed Class 10 examination (or its equivalent) in the academic year 2024-25 with at least 60% marks (or equivalent grade)
  • The applicant must be pursuing higher studies in intermediate/(10+2) pattern/vocational or diploma courses in a government-recognised college/institution or course in Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) for two years
  • The applicant’s Annual Family Income must not be more than ₹2,50,000 from all sources
    Note:
  • Only one student per family is eligible.
  • No part-time or correspondence course students qualify.
  • Merit-cum-means selection; in case of tie on marks, lower family income gets priority.

  • Medicine (MBBS, BAMS, BHMS, BDS) -Rs 40,000 /yr

There are a few necessary documents that the applicants must keep with them while filling LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship application form. The candidates must upload scanned copies of the following documents to complete their application process:

Yes—but students already receiving non-government scholarships are not eligible, while SC/ST government-supported students remain eligible.

17. What if I fail to meet renewal criteria?

Scholarship may be suspended or canceled. False documentation or breach of terms also result in cancellation and recovery.

18. How is attendance monitored?

Candidates must maintain regular attendance; criteria are defined by the institutions.

19. Is it available for postgraduate studies?

No—the scholarship is not applicable for PG programs. Only undergrad, diploma, ITI, and equivalent courses are covered.

20. What happens in case of a tie in marks?

If two candidates have the same percentage, the scholarship goes to the student from the lower-income family.
