The ONGC Scholarship to Meritorious Students is a CSR initiative by the ONGC Foundation, aimed at providing financial assistance to meritorious students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds pursuing professional courses in India so they can pursue higher education without worrying about money. 50% of the scholarships are reserved for female candidates to promote women empowerment through their education. First-year students enrolled in the following programs are eligible for the scholarship: engineering, MBBS, MBA, and Master of Geophysics/Geology.

It provides scholarships to meritorious SC/ST, OBC & General (EWS) students pursuing courses of engineering, MBBS, MBA, and Master of Geophysics/Geology. The selected 500 students will receive a scholarship of INR 48,000 each on an annual basis to enable them to complete their education.

Eligibility Criteria for ONGC Scholarship

The eligibility criteria of applicants to apply for ONGC Scholarship is given below:-

The scholarship is applicable to students belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Other Backward Classes (OBC) and General categories .
All genders male, female, or others are eligible for applying under this scheme.
The annual income of the student should not exceed 2 lakhs from all sources for general category and OBC students and should be less than ₹4,50,000 per annum for SC/ST candidates
Candidate should have obtained minimum 60% marks and of minimum 6.0 in 10 points scale of the grading system.
The candidate must be enrolled in a full-time, regular course during the academic year 2025-2026 i.e 1st year of Engineering/MBBS course or 1st year of MBA / Master in Geology / Geophysics at an AICTE/UGC/MCI/State University/State Education Board/Central University/Central Government institution
The age limit of the applicant should be a maximum of 30 years as of 1^st August 2025.
