France has launched its second iteration of “Classes Internationales” to welcome 30,000 Indian students by 2030.
In a drive to increase the number of Indian students studying in France, the French Embassy in India and Campus France have started the second edition of Classes Internationales. The program was initially proposed by French President Emmanuel Macron during his January 2024 visit to Jaipur, as part of his goal to have 30,000 Indian students studying in France by 2030.
What is “Classes Internationales”?
- For Indian students, “Classes Internationales” is a route program that offers a first year of academic preparation and French language instruction.
- It is accessible to both beginners and experienced students, and upon completion.
- It enables students to transfer to undergraduate programs taught in French.

Students will attend a preparatory school run by Classes Internationales for one semester to a full academic year with the goal of assisting in getting accepted into a French university, engineering school, or business school and students will be welcomed by a committed team that supports French language development and join a community of foreign students.

Application deadlines– “Classes Internationales”
The French Embassy has set two application deadlines:
- March 31, 2025 – For students with no prior knowledge of French.
- May 15, 2025 – For students with A2-level proficiency or higher.
